THE PEOPLE OF BRADFORD - UNITE FOR THE PEOPLE OF HAITI
Last week Haiti was struck by a devastating earthquake, killing over 50, 000 people.
Aid and support is still struggling to get through, and many are being left alone, forgotten and helpless.
What do we do?!
It's time everyone around Bradford came together in solidarity with one another, for the people of Haiti...
What can we do?
On 31st January we will be hosting a fund raising event, together with every single one of you!
It really can't work without all of you, this is something everyone can contribute to, humanity is one thing we all have in common!
SO - WHAT CAN YOU DO?!
- DONATE BOOKS TO BE SOLD ON THE DAY - Everyone has books lying around we don't use, that someone else would pay money for, and that money can go towards building hostels to house the homeless in Haiti...
- USE YOUR OWN SKILLS -You are all special in your own way. Everyone has a skill not everyone else has. Let's help each other and the people of Haiti at the same time. Approach us with any ideas you may have, then on the day we can give out vouchers from you promises to do a particular thing for others...These are a few ideas but please be original and let us know! We'l post them up on the blog too... cookery, gardening, music and language lessons; dress making; knitting....
- PERFORMERS - Want to come liven up the event? Get in touch!
- RESTAURANTS - Want to donate food for the event? Get in touch!
- BUSINESSES - Donate your services to people, help publicise the event etc
- PUBLICITY - Email, text, call everyone! Get them involved! Offer to put a poster up in your window!
- HELP OUT ON THE DAY
----MOST IMPORTANTLY - BE THERE! EVEN IF YOU CAN ONLY MAKE IT FOR AN HOUR, EVERY SOUL, EVERY PENNY, EVERY SMILE REALLY WILL COUNT-------
